The CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector course is designed for welders, operators, line inspectors, and foremen who carry out the visual examination of welded joints. It is also suitable for welding quality control staff associated with welding and anyone who needs basic training in welding inspection alongside a qualification.

Course Content

This welding inspection course will teach you visual inspection procedures, relevant codes of practice and terms and definitions. You will also learn about welding processes and defects, weld measurements, practical inspection and reporting, and the typical welding inspection documentation and requirements.

  • Enrolment on this course does not constitute reservation of an examination
  • All courses may be followed by a CSWIP Welding Inspector examination for candidates with appropriate experience as specified in CSWIP document WI-6-92

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, but it is recommended that candidates have at least 6 months’ welding-related engineering experience and 2 years’ industrial experience. Candidates must also comply with Clause 1.3.4 of CSWIP document WI-6-92.
